"Change will not come if we wait for some other person or some other time. We are the ones we've been waiting for. We are the change that we seek."
— Barack Obama, former U.S. president
As we embark on Black History Month, let’s remember that this annual observance offers us an opportunity to honor the achievements, resilience and contributions of Black individuals throughout history. It also serves as a crucial reminder of the ongoing work needed to promote diversity, equity and inclusion within our organization, your company and beyond.
At GWBC®, we understand the importance of creating an inclusive environment that values and respects the unique perspectives, experiences and talents of every individual. As we celebrate Black History Month, let’s recommit ourselves to the principles, mission and vision that created GWBC®.
Our commitment to these principles goes beyond mere words – it is embedded in our actions, policies and everyday interactions. We understand that true diversity encompasses not only differences in race and ethnicity but also differences in gender, age, sexual orientation and more. Embracing this diversity is not just the right thing to do; it is fundamental to our success as an innovative organization and a society as a whole.
I encourage each and every one of you to actively participate in initiatives and discussions that promote understanding, respect and unity. Let us stand together in supporting one another, acknowledging the unique challenges faced by our Black WBEs, and strive to create a place where everyone feels heard, valued and empowered.
At GWBC, our commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion is a year-round effort. It is an ongoing journey that requires each of us to be active participants in creating an environment where everyone has an equal opportunity to thrive and succeed.
Thank you for your dedication to making GWBC®!
Always in your service,
Roz Lewis
