As the CEO of GWBC®, I want to take a moment to reflect on the significance of Juneteenth, a day of profound historical and cultural importance. Juneteenth, commemorating the emancipation of the last enslaved African Americans in Texas on June 19, 1865, represents not only a critical historical milestone but also a powerful symbol of resilience, freedom and the ongoing pursuit of equality. This day is a significant reminder of the long and difficult struggle for true equality and inclusion for all marginalized communities.
Juneteenth holds particular importance for our mission at GWBC®. Our organization strives to create an environment where women entrepreneurs, particularly those from underrepresented groups, can thrive. By fostering diversity, equity and inclusion, we honor the spirit of Juneteenth and contribute to a more just and unbiased business landscape. Our commitment to supporting women and minority-owned businesses is our contribution to the bigger fight for social justice, recognizing that economic empowerment is a key factor of true freedom.
As we celebrate Juneteenth, let us not only remember the past but also renew our commitment to building a future where every woman can succeed. We must continue to advocate for policies that eliminate imbalance, provide access to resources and create equal opportunities for all. By doing so, we honor the legacy of those who fought for freedom and laid the groundwork for a more inclusive and prosperous society.
Always in your service,
Roz Lewis
